There are just a few instruments so rangebound by stereotypes as accordion, whose status changes so slowly and perhaps even so unwillingly… Thus the musicians who are obstinately breaking the preconceptions deserve the biggest merit.

The idea for this CD as well as its title The Whole of Similarities was developed by accordionist Raimondas Sviackevičius in order to once more show that quite often sceptically judged accordion is indeed a laconic, neutral, very flexible and when needed aggressive, intensive and idiosyncratic instrument but at the same time very much comparable to other instruments… It organically integrates into and becomes a natural component of most versatile formations. AcCORPUS simulacrum presents accordion in a variety of musical miens – accompanied and accompanying, interacting and confronting very different partners including cello, tuba, trombone, saxophone and electronics.
